The Journal of Ship Technology (JST) is a forum for reporting on a full range of subjects of interest to Naval Architects, Naval Engineers, Marine Engineers, Mariners, Offshore Engineers, Harbour Engineers and Oceanographers. The topics published in the journal will explore emerging opportunities and problems that matter to those involved with Ship Technology - be they ships and submarines, oil exploration and production rigs or coastal and riverine craft.

The publication JST is an attempt at meeting a long felt need for providing a forum originating from India for reporting and discussing technical and scientific issues associated with the marine industry. Eminent persons from the fields of naval design, marine technology, research and development and renowned academicians have come forward to strengthen the Editorial Board. The journal has been assigned an International Standard Serial Number (ISSN : 0973 : 1423), which shall accord publicity & recognition to by its automatic inclusion in the International Serials Directories. The inaugural issue was released on the occasion of 15th Commodore Garg Memorial Lecture held at Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi on 05 March 2005. The JST is published six monthly, in January and July every year.

AIMS AND SCOPE

The Journal of Ship Technology (JST) aims to create a platform for knowledge sharing on the latest breakthroughs in the arena of Naval Architecture, Marine Technology, Offshore Technology and the allied fields of Ship Technology including Naval Platform Technology with an objective of promoting, advancing and diffusing knowledge. The journal shall provide a forum for the reporting and discussion on technical and scientific issues associated with the research and development, design, construction, operation, maintenance and disposal of marine vessels, offshore structures as well as their equipment and systems. Apart from Naval Engineering, Ocean Engineering and Marine Engineering, the topics could also include Harbour Engineering, Coastal Engineering, Inland Water Ways, Small Craft and Boat Design, International Regulations, Marine Environment, Ship Economy and Law, Human Factors and Training, Evaluation of the Naval Architecture Profession and such other issues that have an impact on Ship Technology. The papers may describe experimental or novel practical work, introduce new theory or evaluate existing theory, present case histories, provide literary reviews, report on new or existing techniques of design, production or repair. Technical Notes may provide early announcement of new ideas, findings, procedures, applications, interim results, etc. All papers and technical notes shall be refereed.

The Journal solicits contributions in the form of technical papers from Scientists, Academicians, Technologists, Practicing Engineers and others who are directly or indirectly involved in promoting the activities of ship technology.

With a platform in place for professional interaction, it is hoped that the journal shall inspire the entire community associated with marine and allied industry.
